What's the hurry?

Jeremiah 2:25 The Message (MSG) 25 “Slow down. Take a deep breath. What’s the hurry?     Why wear yourself out? Just what are you after anyway? But you say, ‘I can’t help it.     I’m addicted to alien gods. I can’t quit.’ Why do we rush about?  Why do we stay so busy?  Is it for recognition?  "Oh, look what a great mom/grandmom she is!"  "Oh look what a good Christian they are!"  "They are such a hard worker!"  The thing is, we already have God’s approval, and more importantly his love.  Take a deep breath, look around and see what’s really important and focus on that.  Don’t worry about the world and what they think.  God knows your heart. Holy God, Forgive us when we let idols slip into our lives. Help us to keep our eyes firmly focused on you.  Amen.
