28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
This verse seems a bit out of place among the others this week about focusing on the present. When I chose this one I was thinking of my children and laying a firm foundation in their lives by being present with them today, knowing that what I do with them today influences their tomorrow. What we do with one another today, influences our tomorrows. Today and tomorrow do go together even when our tomorrow might not come, it will for someone and our influence and participation in today leaves a lasting impact for tomorrow with or without us.
Lord of time and space,
Help us to make the most of each moment, leaving a positive mark on the world. Amen.
