Don't be a know-it-all

Proverbs 3:5-7 The Message (MSG)

5-12 Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
    don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
    he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.

Don’t assume you know it all…  That sounds very human, doesn’t it?  We like to be in charge, in control, but we need to learn to trust God.  To listen for his voice.  Sometimes we can hear his voice in our thoughts and sometimes we can hear his voice through the people around us.  We just have to open ourselves to him.

Gracious God,
Forgive us for being control freaks, for thinking we know best.  Help us to slow down and listen for your guidance.  Amen.
